Christian Homeschool Families

STATEMENT OF FAITH:
~All scrïpture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness...~ 2 Tim 3:16
• God's Word the Bible is the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth. God did not make mistakes in what He chose to be in His Word. We believe in the Bible in it's entirety. (2 Tim 3:16)
• God has existed for all eternity as the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Son (Jesus); being both 3 entities and yet 1 entity. Jesus was God come in human flesh being fully God and fully man except without sin. (Psalm 90:2 , Heb 4:15)
• ALL humans are born sinners and "the penalty of sin is death(hell)." Jesus came to earth to pay the penalty for man’s sin through His substitutionary death on the cross. He was without sin and the Son of God and was therefore raised from the dead on the third day as proof that He is God and succeeded in what he set out to do. (Rom 3:23 , Rom 6:23 , John 3:16-18 , Heb 4:15 , 1 Cor 15:3-4)
• Salvation is offered as a gift, free to the sinner. Each person must accept this gift for themselves, not putting their faith in earning their way to heaven through good works, but in the sacrificial death of Christ Jesus alone. (Rom 6:23 , Eph 2:8-9)
• Children are a blessing (Psalm 127:4-5) and are human lives with eternal souls from the time of conception. God gave parents the responsibility and authority to teach and train their children to live a life that is pleasing to Him. (Deut 4:9 , Deut 11:18-21 , Psalm 78:5 , Prov 22:6 , Eph 6:1-4)
• The family is the basic governmental, social, and spiritual unit created by God. In it, the child learns self government, social relations, and develops a relationship to the Creator and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 6:1-4, Colossians 3:20). The family also provides protection from over extensive government and over stimulating social involvements.
• God defines "parents" as one male and one female legally married (Genesis 1:27), although we recognize the exceptions of a single parent, adopted, foster, and step children (James 1:27).
• Homosexual "marriages" and homosexual orientation are contrary to scrïpture and the intentions of God in creation (Romans 1:18-32), and we believe that such relationships are destructive to children and the very idea of family. Further, we reject transitory, co-habitational relationships as being equally in violation of God’s laws and incapable of providing the long-term nurture and instruction needed by children and commanded by God (Leviticus 18:22 , Ephesians 6:1-4).
• All education is religious in nature since one’s view of the world and life is inevitably involved in teaching (Proverbs 2, Prov 3, Prov 6:20-23). Every discipline of knowledge, whether it be mathematics, history, science, etc., will have as its final reference point a theistic or, in the alternative, a humanistic view of reality (Colossians 2:8-15); there is no neutral academic point.
• We live by example. As our children are like sponges, learning what we do and not just what we say, so the world will see through our words to how we actually live, and how our children live. "For even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right." -Prov 20:11   "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it." -Prov 22:6  "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." -1 Tim 4:12   "...encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us." -Titus 2:6-8   "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away." -1 Peter 5:2-4
